Washington Post blogs again

Over the summer, the Washington Post launched a collaborative online project called PostGlobal. Using the blog format, thirty contributors respond to and discuss a question of global significance each week. What do you think of this new type of "news"? How might it affect journalism, especially news creation and consumption? Will this format gain popularity, or prove too difficult to maintain (like other Post blogging experiments, explained here and here)?
